We believe our 3 services compare more favourably in content and cost than Nationwide, Kwik Fit or the dealer! Combined with an MOT the savings can be the equivalent of over 80% off your MOT.
- Uniquely, we plug into the cars ECU (where fitted) to check for any hidden issues and report back.
- We report any other items we discover, which we believe may need future attention.
- Service schedule parts and labour are fully covered by a 12 month or 12’000 mile guarantee.

Servicing your car is a critical but relatively low cost investment. It extends the life of the vehicle, spots problems before they can become serious and can add value to the sale value of the vehicle.
Prospective buyers look for a vehicle’s fully stamped service book to indicate how well it’s been looked after.
Motest is unique in offering a service book with our compliments if the original has gone missing.
Finally, if your vehicle is under warranty or you wish to, our database allows us to service it precisely to the manufacturer schedule. This does not affect your warranty and we stamp the service book accordingly.
LUBE SERVICE
What does it cost?
- Lube Service - £60 inc VAT*
- Lube Service + MOT - £95 inc VAT*
What does it cover?
Available for all cars and light vans of any engine size, petrol or diesel.
It is a 13-point service, providing the basic minimum in order to protect the vehicles engine, and a check on all essential fluids and critical safety items.
- oil & filter changed
- fluid levels such as brakes, power steering and transmission
- safety items such as tyres, battery and lights
In addition, if the car is fitted with an ECU, as most are these days, we plug our diagnostic equipment to clear, or report any fault codes. A copy of the print out will be attached to your invoice.
When should I get a lube service?

High Mileage;
- If you do a high annual mileage, (12,000 miles+), this will provide at 6 months an essential check up/oil change between services.
- Some manufacturers recommend checks more frequently than 12 months

Budget considerations;
- This is a great way of getting a low cost check on the essentials in order to guarantee you peace of mind
- Very useful especially when combined with an MOT, if you have an older car of modest value and want to keep it going "another year"

Full Service
What does it cost?
- Full Service - £190 inc VAT*
- Full Service + MOT - £210 inc VAT*
What does it cover?
Available for cars and light vans up to 2000cc**, either petrol or diesel.
Provides a very comprehensive 76 - point service, covering engine, cooling, transmission, wheels/tyres, steering, electric’s and body.
In addition, if the car is fitted with an ECU as most are these days, we plug our diagnostic equipment to clear, or report any fault codes. A copy of the print out will be attached to your invoice.
We appreciate the value of a fully stamped service book, so the book is properly completed. If you have no service book, Motest will provide a replacement.
Finally we will wash and vacuum the car with our compliments.
When should I get a full service?
- 12 months or 12000 miles since last service;
Over a 12-month period or with high mileage, oils and other fluids will deteriorate. In addition critical safety items such as brakes and tyres will wear, so a detailed check of such items is essential. - Car has just been purchased;If you have just bought a second hand car, and no service schedule is present, then a full service will provide an essential maintenance check to keep you on the road safely. The service does not duplicate the MOT as it involves fluid changes and dismantling e.g.: brakes, which the MOT does not do.

Major Service
What does it cost?
- Major Service - £240 inc VAT*
- Major Service + MOT - £260 inc VAT*
What does it cover?
Available for cars and light vans up to 2000cc**, either petrol or diesel.
We believe this to be the most comprehensive service available (83 points). It covers additional items to the full service, which are recommended to be replaced every 2 years. Critically this includes;
- Brake fluid - after 2 years, brake fluid can have absorbed so much moisture that the boiling point drops, leading to poorer performance and ultimately failure
- Coolant change - by 2 years the coolant will become acidic and have started to lose effectiveness at cooling the engine and preventing corrosion. This ultimately will cause clogged radiators and potentially head gasket failure through overheating.
- Replacing fuel and air filters.
When should I get a major service?
As mentioned the above items must be changed at 2-year intervals. By alternating with a full service, your vehicle will be kept at peak maintain levels, with benefits on reliability, economy, performance and environment.
