Because of the many thousands of cars and vans we test each year, we are very experienced in understanding the test and the vulnerable points on all different makes and models.

We understand classic cars, modern cars, vans, motor homes and valuable exotic’s .

For example, we are probably one of the few companies who have MOT tested not 1 but 2 ex-Le Mans Maclaren F1 racing cars, converted for road use and valued at a cool £2 million each. You can trust us to do all we can to help get you that all important pass certificate. If your car fails we will advise on the best way forward to get a pass. If its MOT repairs, you can trust us to economically repair your vehicle and get it successfully retested. Our testing standards are thorough but fair, confirmed by our strong record with VOSA.

VOSA say the national average time for an MOT is 50 minutes. Because of our familiarity with so many cars and because we test with a two person team, we are able to complete an actual MOT test on average under 30minutes. We believe our 3 services compare more favourably in content and cost than Nationwide, Kwik Fit or the dealer! Combined with an MOT the savings can be the equivalent of over 80% off your MOT.

Servicing your car is a critical but relatively low cost investment. It extends the life of the vehicle, spots problems before they can become serious and can add value to the sale value of the vehicle.

Prospective buyers look for a vehicle’s fully stamped service book to indicate how well it’s been looked after.

Motest is unique in offering a service book with our compliments if the original has gone missing.

Finally, if your vehicle is under warranty or you wish to, our database allows us to service it precisely to the manufacturer schedule. This does not affect your warranty and we stamp the service book accordingly.

Toyota

With the past closures of Toyota dealers in the Farnham and Alton areas there has been a demand for repair, servicing, parts and warranty services for local Toyotas cars and vans.

We joined the Toyota network in late 2009 as a service outlet and are fast developing a strong presence. Based on customer feedback, we are rated monthly by Toyota in the top 3 ‘after service’ outlets in their southern region since opening. We are proud of the level of service we give to the local Toyota community.

MG Rover

At Farnham and Swindon we offer full dealership service and repair on MG Rover cars from the MG Z range right back to the earlier models such as Minis, Metros and Rover 200. We have full diagnostic capability and can supply new keys with the correct codes. You will get dealership level skills but at very affordable prices. We use original MG Rover parts and have an updated kit to permanently fix head gasket problems on the K-Series engines, as fitted to many models.

There is considerable MG Rover heritage within Motest, particularly at Farnham. The workshops we occupy were part of one of the oldest Austin (which became part of BMC/BL/Austin Rover) distributors which opened nearly 100 years ago.

We have the skills to repair and service many classic cars from this manufacturer. We recently helped refurbish one of the oldest SD1 Rovers in existence belonging to Keith Adams a well known motoring writer. You will also regularly find such cars from the old BMC/BL days in for repair.

New Mini

The New MINI was launched into the UK in July 2001. It has been a tremendous success both here and abroad. Now in its second incarnation, the oldest early versions are now nearly 9 years old.

Many buyers of these cars took out the BMW TLC programmes, which particularly on earlier cars will have ended. The owner then has to decide continue to use BMW MINI dealers with the high charges or an independent. The cars are not too complicated to repair but specialist knowledge and the use of original parts is desirable.

Motest Farnham & Swindon are now specialising in the New MINI for servicing, repairs and tyres.

Our labour charges are considerably less than your local MINI dealer, yet our skills and equipment are as high. Services are to manufacturer schedule, guaranteed for 12 months and your service book is stamped correctly.

We also hold an extensive stock of quality New MINI service parts such as oil and air filters, brake discs and pads.

MOTEST has specialist diagnostic equipment specific to the New MINI, which allows us to match dealer skills in identifying any faults and keeping the car in maximum tune.

Finally, many New MINI’s are fitted with Run-Flat tyres (RSC) which if driven punctured are recommended to be replaced. They are expensive, but you will find us cheaper than the dealer and probably most fast fit tyre companies. We hold key sizes and makes (Pirelli & Dunlop) as well as Avon’s new equivalent.

Our runflats start at £99 each plus fitting /balance /VAT. We also stock MINI non-runflat tyres.

Air Conditioning

How many times have you switched on the air conditioning on the first day there is warm weather to find warm stale air coming from the system. Your air conditioning system is like any other part the car - it needs a level of maintenance

• No matter what the vehicle age, Air-Con gas will permeate from the system
• It needs a recharge of gas & lubricant every 2 years minimum
• Bacteria build up will cause unpleasant smells
• A poorly charged system will make the engine work harder and affect fuel economy
• Lack of use over winter months can dry the seals leading to leaks, because it’s the circulating gas that lubricates the system.

Motest is installing the very latest state of the art machines that will give a make & model specific recharge. The machine will extract the old refrigerant, oil and moisture, then recharge it, as well as replenishing the oil.

An effective bacteria removal service also available.
